Lloyd Vernet "Beau" Bridges III (born December 9, 1941) is an American actor with a career spanning more than 75 years in film, television and stage. He is perhaps best known for starring with his younger brother Jeff and Michelle Pfeiffer in the 1989 film The Fabulous Baker Boys, in which he played one of the titular characters Frank Baker.
One of his most prominent television roles was as Major General Hank Landry in Stargate SG-1 from 2005 to 2007 and its spin-off Stargate: Atlantis from 2005 to 2006 as well as in the 2008 DVD films Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum. He has also played regular or recurring roles in such series as United States, Harts of the West, Maximum Bob, The Agency, My Name is Earl, Franklin & Bash, White Collar, Masters of Sex, The Millers, Black-ish, Bloodline, Homeland, Greenleaf and Goliath.
He made his film debut in No Minor Vices in 1948. His other film appearances include Village of the Giants, Hammersmith is Out, Child's Play, Lovin' Molly, The Four Feathers, Norma Rae, The Fifth Musketeer, The Wizard, Sidekicks, Jerry Maguire, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, The Good German, Charlotte's Web, Max Payne and The Descendants.
He played Dr. Simon Kress in the revival series' pilot episode "Sandkings". He, his father Lloyd and his son Dylan starred as three generations of the Kress family.
Archive footage of this appearance was later used in the clip shows "The Voice of Reason" and "Final Appeal".
