Parley Edward Baer (August 5, 1914 – November 22, 2002) was an American actor in radio and later in television and film. Despite dozens of appearances in television series and theatrical films, he remains best known as the original Chester in the radio version of Gunsmoke and as the Mayor of Mayberry (Roy Stoner) in The Andy Griffith Show.

He made guest appearances on such series as Dragnet, Father Knows Best, Our Miss Brooks, Alfred Hitchock Presents, I Love Lucy, You Are There, Fibber McGee and Molly, Thriller, Make Room for Daddy, The Rifleman, Dennis the Menace, Father of the Bride, General Electric Theater, Bachelor Father, Have Gun - Will Travel, Dr. Kildare, Wagon Train, Death Valley Days, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Burke's Law, Bonanza, The Addams Family, Perry Mason, I Dream of Jeannie, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., Lassie, Ironside, Land of the Giants, Hogan's Heroes, Mannix, The F.B.I., The Virginian, Green Acres, The Mod Squad, Bewitched, Charlie's Angels, The Incredible Hulk, Knots Landing, Lou Grant, Dallas, The A-Team, The Twilight Zone, Newhart, The Golden Girls, The Flash, Beverly Hills, 90210, Quantum Leap and Star Trek: Voyager, which was his final role.

He played Dr. Bernard Stone in the original series episode "Behold, Eck!".
